Democrats Release Epstein Documents Claiming Trump ‘knew about the girls’

House Oversight Democrats released 20,000+ Epstein estate emails, including messages where Epstein claims Trump knew about his involvement with underage girls. The files contain no direct communication from Trump, but increase pressure for full public disclosure and DOJ action.
WASHINGTON — House Oversight Committee Democrats have released more than 20,000 pages of newly obtained Jeffrey Epstein estate emails, including messages in which Epstein claims that former President Donald Trump was aware of his involvement with underage girls.¹
The emails, dated between 2011 and 2019, do not include direct communication from Trump. Instead, they contain Epstein’s written statements and conversations with author Michael Wolff discussing how to handle Trump’s public comments and how to exploit potential lies for leverage.²
Committee Democrats say the records raise “serious questions about what the former president knew and when he knew it.”³
Key Email Claims
2011 Email to Ghislaine Maxwell
Epstein describes Trump as “the dog that hasn’t barked” and claims a known victim “spent hours at my house with him” but “never once mentioned it.”⁴
2015 Email Thread With Michael Wolff
Epstein asks how Trump should answer questions about their association. Wolff advises that if Trump lies, Epstein would gain “leverage” and could later “hang him” or “save him,” creating political debt.⁵
2019 Email to Wolff
Epstein writes that Trump “knew about the girls and asked Ghislaine to stop.”⁵
None of these claims have been independently verified.
No Direct Evidence of Criminal Conduct
The released documents:
• Do not show Trump communicating with Epstein
• Do not contain direct evidence Trump committed a crime
• Do show Epstein believed Trump knew more than he publicly admitted
Republicans called the release a political stunt and accused Democrats of weaponizing unproven accusations.
Trump Responds
Trump told reporters:
“I don’t care what Epstein wrote. He was a liar and a pervert. I threw him out of Mar-a-Lago.”
Trump has never been charged in relation to the Epstein case.
Why It Matters
The findings intensify three ongoing issues:
Renewed scrutiny of Trump’s long-denied Epstein relationship
A growing push for full public release of Epstein records
A partisan split over whether the files represent accountability or weaponized speculation
Democrats say the Justice Department has still not released Epstein-related material in full.
What Comes Next
Committee staff say more documents will be released over the coming weeks.
Members have floated:
• A full public release of Epstein flight logs
• A DOJ special counsel or inspector general review
• Hearings requiring testimony from individuals named in the emails
