DIGGS’ RESPONSE
Stefon Diggs has filed a defamation lawsuit stating:
The allegations are false, fabricated, and motivated by clout seeking
Griffith is using his name to build an influencer career
The claims have caused reputational and financial damage
The lawsuit does not accuse Griffith of extortion — only defamation.
LEGAL STATUS RIGHT NOW
No criminal case is active against Diggs
One civil case exists: Diggs v. Griffith (defamation)
No evidence has been released publicly that confirms Griffith’s claims
Griffith has not retracted anything and continues to stand by his story online
WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT
Because:
The allegation is severe: drug-facilitated sexual assault
Diggs is a high-profile NFL player with major sponsorships
Griffith is a public accuser but not a recognized journalist or victim advocate
The case may become a major test of whether viral accusations without confirmed evidence can be punished legally
